We lived in San Francisco for a year and a half and it was culinary heaven (and waistline hell). Then we lived in San Diego for six years and had a huge selection of eclectic restaurants and foods. We moved here to Las Cruces in February 2014 for business purposes - and were devastated at the dearth of specialty restaurants. Buffets are fine and we've found a few little delights along the way, but we missed having a favorite place. We discovered Renoo's by accident, driving by it one day and taking note. We were in heaven when we first went in for takeout. We've been back for dining in three or four times at the date of this review. Larry the owner shops for fresh food every single day - I've seen him purchasing a day's worth of produce at a time. Bright, crisp, flavorful dishes are a huge part of that practice. Larry is a very good host. The big success, however, is Larry's wife. Taiwanese, she studied as a chef in Thailand and brought her culinary skills to Las Cruces. Our meals have always been prepared fresh and in a very reasonable amount of time. I've seen the business grow quite a bit since we first went there (not that long ago) and still the kitchen and the service has not fallen behind. I delight in curries and I have been so very happy with the meals I've ordered. Mmmmm, I thought I was going to waste away from a diet of beige food until we leave here in March 2015. Thankfully we have an awesome addition to our dining out experiences. The appetizers can be a little pricy - we ordered the Calamari and while it was very delicious (not the cross-country standard fried rings) the portion seemed a little small for the price. Dinners, however, leave us waddling away as the portions are substantial.

Was out with a friend and I was really enjoying my Pad Thai-- while they were cleaning, a tray fell and a tiny bit of sauce flew onto me and into my eye. No big deal, really, but we were both given a free meal. I love Renoo's food, but this was above and beyond customer service. A++ from me.

A very bad experience. The satay was, at best almost average. The udon soup had 3 or 4 noodles, basil leaves and sadly tasted as if was made from bouillon cubes. The phad thai with shrimp had egg and tasted more like spghetti; it was not eaten. The shrimp was not hot but barely warm. The panang curry was very, very watery and the taste was very poor and was not finished. When the owner/manager was told of our sad experience, he was quite glib and rude: quite snotty actually. Our suggestion is do not go!!

One of two Thai restaurants in Cruces. The best and only choice. This restaurant used to be located way out in Organ, NM, and moved to Las Cruces Proper in late 2013 or early 2014. The menu is basically the same for now, but the folks I spoke with at my most recent visit said they'd be changing it soon(!). New menu additions: Crab Rangoons! Yessss! and also a Salmon Pineapple Red Curry, which I ordered with chicken in place of salmon (I'm from the PNW, and I'm sorry, but wherever this salmon came from it is not going to be as good as the stuff up in WA). They also have a fantastic chicken broth based Rice & Ginger Soup that comes with your entree. That may sound underwhelming, but they used to give you miso soup (what?), and I must say this is my new go-to "I NEED SOUP" soup. Well, unless it's more of an "I NEED TOM KHA GAI SOUP" day, in which they've got me covered, too. You can get a salad with your entree instead of soup, and the only correct choice if you go that route is two words: Ginger. Dressing. Between the perfectly fried, melt-in-your-mouth crab rangoons, the solid Thai iced tea, the awesomesauce soup, and the chunks of pineapple in my perfectly-spiced "medium" red curry, I was in Thai Food Heaven. For some reason, the menu still has a bunch of steaks and American food on it. Maybe when they say "change the menu" they mean "get rid of all the weird non-Thai entrees and add even MORE delicious curries and vegetarian dishes"? One can hope ;)

I wish I can rate -5 stars! This must be the worst Thai restaurant. No, the worst restaurant in the world! I can't believe it's still running. I wish nobody else is fooled like us because of the few reviews. We went there on a Friday evening. There was no customer at dinner time. We ordered a curry dish and Fried noodles. Everything tastes spoiled! Even the lemon slices in ice water went bad! Neither of us could finish our dish because the meat smells and tastes spoiled! The flavor is very bad too! Both of my husband and I almost threw up. I think a kid could cook better than those! After eating for 3 minutes, we just admit that we had very bad luck, so we paid and left. I feel like throwing up even when thinking about the food there right now. I will never try a restaurant with so few reviews in future.

Larry & his family are awesome. Stayed open for us after a slow night. Great food right off the highway. Sticky rice & pad thai in the middle of the night in NM. Are we dreaming?!

We ate occasionally at the original location in Organ and finally got to eat at their new location last week. Quite good, basically the same food quality as the old site. Between three of us, we had two Pad Thais, both chicken, and I can't remember what my wife had, but we were all well satisfied. For appetizers we had the chicken satay along with a special, a BBQ beef with sticky rice, both were excellent. My wife is a wimp when it comes to spice levels, and one thing that she does with ginger dishes is gets them mild with extra ginger,so the heat is increased in one way without cranking it up in another. One note about the service. The service is good overall, but it does take some time for the food to come out, so don't go there if you're in a hurry. A note about parking: you can park on either side of the building. We went there late in the day with our dog in the car and by parking on the west side, we had excellent shade from the tall building next door. And apparently they have two entrances, one on Picacho and one on the east side of the building. I'm not too sure what that's about.

Pretty good curry and drunken noodles. It's nice to escape the sea of tex-mex restaurants that populate the southwest. The service was very fast, and they were very friendly. It was near to our motel and recommended. We were very pleased.

The drunken noodles and beef noodle soup were awesome! If I could have licked my plate I would have :-). While I miss the restaurant in Organ, the food is just as good as when they were there.

Appetizer (can't remember the name) consisted of chopped chicken and herbs. It was so salty I couldn't eat it, but my husband liked it. Main courses were Pad Thai and chicken with basil and vegetables. They were mediocre at best. No fresh basil in the chicken dish, and it is available locally. To say that the food is mediocre is being generous.

Overpriced and frozen food. The appetizers are worse than frozen food from Costco. I've made better Thai food at home. Plus, they don't serve alcohol.

This might be the best Thai food within a 300nm radius. There are not many choices and most are horrible in El Paso at least. This one was decent good quality Thai food. I took my wife and young son here for a little weekend lunch. I ordered the Tom Gha Kai (my favorite soup of all-time) and the chicken supreme entree. The Tom Gha Kai was a little thicker then I'm use to, but was flavorful. It had a few things, like celery, that I have never seen in this soup before. None the less it was good. And hot was spicy enough for me. The chicken supreme was full of fresh peppers and had a nice subtle sweet flavored sauce. All together good meal, however the spicey soup hurt my stomach a little later, but it may have been worth it. Only lack luster thing we experienced was they did not have enough servers. When we first got there it was pretty empty, but as lunch picked up the server got into the weeds a bit and we waited a rather long time to close out. Not her fault. We will most likely be back.... However I will choose medium heat for my soup

An unexpected treat. Seasonings authentic Thai. Tom yum gai soup in line juice tangy and hot. Recommend the Nam Sod appetizer. My husband and I shared the stir fried basil and drunken noodles. You can spice up the heat in dishes to taste. We'll be back. A treasure!
